Alison Calvo
Founder & Instructor, The Miami Play Club
Alison’s work with children began through volunteering with Round Robin Playgroup, Inc., where she helps lead a parent-and-child playgroup and supports community events, work that remains especially close to her heart. Earlier this year she began teaching toddler art classes in Edgewater, creating Reggio Emilia–inspired experiences centered on open-ended materials, play, and exploration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently pursuing graduate studies in speech-language pathology, a background she draws on when designing each class and observing how every child communicates, explores, and engages in their own individual way. As both a teacher and a mother, Alison is passionate about creating welcoming experiences where children are free to follow their curiosity, caregivers can participate alongside them, and families can form meaningful connections within their community.

A few things to know
Logistics
- A three-class series on Mondays: September 14, 21, and 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
- Each week features a new theme: Ocean Wonders, Dinosaur Discoveries, and From Seed to Studio.
- Designed for toddlers ages 18 to 36 months and their parent or caregiver. Caregiver participation and supervision are required throughout the class.
- $45 per class, or $120 for the complete three-class series. The series price is a class pack: you buy it once, then use it to book each of the three Mondays. Each registration reserves a space for one toddler and their caregiver.
- Booking works one Monday at a time. Mindbody shows a single week at a time, so reserving all three sessions means booking each date separately: book September 14, then use the week arrows in the scheduler to move forward to September 21 and September 28. If you bought the series pack, it covers all three bookings.
- All art materials are included. Please dress both yourself and your child in clothing that can get messy.
