We are proud to share that Mat & Maternity founder Saralee Morales, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC was recently featured in VoyageMIA’s Inspiring Conversations series, a publication that spotlights the entrepreneurs, artists, and community builders shaping South Florida.

Before founding Mat & Maternity, Saralee spent 13 years as a neonatal ICU nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner, caring for the most vulnerable infants and the families navigating some of the hardest moments of new parenthood. That clinical foundation shapes everything about how Mat & Maternity approaches prenatal and postpartum care.

The studio opened in February 2026 at 401 Coral Way in Coral Gables, occupying the same space that once housed a beloved prenatal yoga studio. Saralee’s own experience attending those classes as an expectant mother planted the seed for what Mat & Maternity would become.

In the VoyageMIA feature, Saralee speaks candidly about:

  • Her path from healthcare to entrepreneurship: leaving clinical nursing after more than a decade to build something of her own, and what that transition really looked like
  • What makes Mat & Maternity different: a studio that goes “beyond just movement,” weaving prenatal yoga, postpartum Pilates, and mommy-and-me classes together with honest conversations about motherhood, infant care, and mental well-being
  • The role of community: “Community is everything,” Saralee says in the piece. It’s not a tagline. It’s the operating principle behind every class offered at the studio.
  • The fourth trimester: postpartum support as a dedicated focus, not an afterthought

Mat & Maternity offers drop-in classes at our Coral Gables studio throughout the week:

  • Prenatal Yoga: all trimesters welcome, 75 minutes
  • Momma Mat Pilates: pregnancy and postpartum, 50 minutes
  • Mat Pilates for Every Body: inclusive, low-impact, open to all
  • Mommy & Me Yoga: newborns to 12 months, babies on the mat
  • Private Sessions: one-on-one in English or Spanish
