About Mat & Maternity

Mat & Maternity is a fitness studio focused on prenatal and postpartum yoga and pilates run by Saralee Morales. Located in the heart of Coral Gables, FL we are the only studio in South Miami dedicated to movement before, during, and after pregnancy.

Mat & Maternity is more than just a fitness class. It is a sanctuary for women navigating the transition into motherhood. We provide a safe, inclusive space where you can connect with your changing body and a community of like-minded mothers.

Whether you are in your first trimester or your “fourth trimester,” our classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are. We bridge the gap between prenatal care and postpartum recovery, ensuring that you never have to guess what is safe or effective for your body. Movement is our method for finding balance, reducing stress, and preparing for the journey ahead.

Our mission is to support women through the most transformative physical and emotional event of their lives. We believe that:

Community is Vital: Motherhood shouldn’t be done in isolation. We foster connections that last long after the class ends. We welcome all mothers and those who make up their village into our classes; whether it be partners, sisters, mothers, or friends!

I am a yogi, fitness lover, nurse, and mother. As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with extensive experience in neonatal intensive care and pediatric neurosurgery, I’ve dedicated my career to caring for mothers and babies at their most vulnerable moments.

When my son was born, he required a short stay in the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Despite my previous experience as a NICU nurse, this stay threw me for a spin. From that experience, I learned there was a great need for one-on-one support, education as a first time mother, and help navigating the tricky medical world. So I was inspired to create a space where mothers can move, breathe, and heal through yoga and pilates, while also finding community, affordable access, and resources for both mama and baby.

Born and raised in Miami, I’m thrilled to serve the women of our vibrant, diverse community. As a bilingual native speaker of English and Spanish, I’m committed to making this practice accessible to all women in our community, regardless of their primary language.
